THE results are in and the class of 2007 has gone back to the books.
The majority of Glen Eira and Port Phillip students are now completing tertiary studies, a survey of school leavers has found.
The On Track survey of Victorian school leavers found just 61.9 per cent of the Victorian class of 2007 went on to university or TAFE, compared with 69.5 per cent of those who left school in 2003.
But more than 75 per cent of Glen Eira and Port Phillip students are in tertiary education this year.
Former Kilvington student Holly Dean went straight into university after finishing Year 12 last year.
Ms Dean is studying a double Science/Arts degree at Monash University in Clayton.
The 18-year-old Beaumaris resident said she enjoyed the differences between school and tertiary education.
"I always wanted to go to university," Ms Dean said.
She said she enjoyed the challenges of university but was unsure of what to do once she had finished her four-year degree.
Since leaving school Ms Dean said she had more time for sport and part-time work.
Ninety-four per cent of Kilvington students are at university or TAFE and six per cent have deferred their studies.
Every Shelford Girls' Grammar and MacRobertson Girls' High School student received a tertiary offer.
